This incredible journey will allow you to walk across the bridge over the mighty Apurímac River and take in the stunning landscapes along the way.
Itinerary
04:00 AM – Hotel Pick-Up
Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your hotel by our professional guide. From here, we’ll drive for approximately 2.5 hours towards Colorful Mountain (Palcoyo), making a short stop in a picturesque town for breakfast.
06:30 AM – Arrival at Colorful Mountain (Palcoyo)
Upon arrival, we’ll embark on a 30-minute walk to reach the base of the Colorful Mountain. Prepare your camera for breathtaking views and capture the perfect photo moments.
Optional: You can extend your hike and explore the stone forest, a fascinating area with nature-formed stone pillars that create a dramatic landscape for photos.
08:30 AM – Picnic Lunch in the Valley
After the hike, we’ll descend into the valley for a picnic lunch, where you can relax and enjoy a traditional meal with hot mate.
10:00 AM – Journey to Qeswachaca (Inca Bridge)
We’ll continue the journey for 2 hours to Qeswachaca, where the ancient Inca bridge awaits. Upon arrival, we’ll walk to the base of the bridge for panoramic photo opportunities, and then experience walking across this incredible structure.
12:30 PM – Optional Boat Ride
After exploring the bridge, enjoy some free time. If you wish, take an optional boat ride through the Apurímac River Canyon and immerse yourself in the beautiful scenery.
03:00 PM – Return to Cusco
We’ll begin our return journey to Cusco, driving for 3 to 4 hours back to your hotel, concluding your unforgettable adventure.

The hike to Colorful Mountain is moderate. It takes about 30 minutes to reach the base, and there’s an optional extended hike through the stone forest. It is suitable for most people with a moderate fitness level.
The boat ride through the Apurímac River Canyon is optional and not included in the tour price. If you would like to participate, it can be arranged on-site for an additional cost.
We recommend bringing comfortable clothing for hiking, a hat, sunscreen, water, a camera for stunning photos, and any personal items you may need. You may also bring cash for optional activities like the boat ride.
Trekking poles are not included in the tour but can be rented upon request. Please inform us in advance if you would like to rent poles.
The drive to Colorful Mountain (Palcoyo) takes approximately 2.5 hours, followed by a 2-hour drive to Qeswachaca. The total travel time, including stops, is about 3.5 to 4 hours each way.
