Itinerary
Pick up from your hotel in Cusco begins at 4:00 am. We then head to the Ollantaytambo station, a journey that takes about 1 hour and a half. From there, we will board the train to Kilometer 104, the starting point of the Inca Trail. Along the way, we will visit the archaeological sites of Chachabamba and Wiñayhuayna, while enjoying beautiful views of the Urubamba River and different types of orchids. After about 2 hours of hiking, we will reach the Wiñayhuayna archaeological site, where we will take a short rest and enjoy lunch with a box lunch.
We will continue hiking towards Machu Picchu on an easier trail, and finally reach the Sun Gate (Inti Punku), where you can admire the magnificent Inca city of Machu Picchu. The afternoon light is perfect for taking photos with fewer tourists on-site. After about 45 more minutes of walking, we will exit Machu Picchu and take the bus to Aguas Calientes. There, dinner will be arranged, and you will finalize details for the guided tour of Machu Picchu the following day.
The second day is the most magical: Machu Picchu. We will wake up early to take the first bus to Machu Picchu and witness the sunrise over the ruins.
The guided tour will last approximately 3 hours, during which the highlights of Machu Picchu will be explained, such as the enclosures, plazas, sacred fountains, temples, and both the agricultural and urban sectors. Finally, we will return to Aguas Calientes, where we will have a delicious lunch before taking the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our private transport will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Cusco.
