The 7 Lagunas Ausangate tour is a beautiful day hike, where you can visit the 7 lagoons of different colors, part of the Vilcanota mountain range and also be close to the mountains of Ausangate and Ayangate.
You will enjoy the relaxing hot springs with a beautiful view of the mountains and local life.
Itinerary
- 04:30 a.m. – 05:00 a.m.: Pick-up from hotels in Cusco and departure to the community of Pacchanta, located at the foothills of the snow-capped Ausangate. The journey takes approximately 3 hours.
- 08:00 a.m.: Arrival in Pacchanta and breakfast. Final preparations before starting the hike.
- 09:00 a.m.: Start of the hike to explore the 7 Ausangate Lakes.

- Second Lagoon: Patacocha Lagoon – Beautiful scenery and ideal for photography.

- Fifth Lagoon: Orco Otorongo Lagoon – A unique lagoon with spots resembling a jaguar’s fur.
- Sixth Lagoon: Chinese Otorongo Lagoon – Named after the female jaguar, offering panoramic views.
- Seventh Lagoon: Azul Cocha Lagoon – A deep blue lagoon, highly appreciated by visitors.
Some of these lagoons have a striking turquoise-green color due to the mineral-rich waters descending from the snow-capped mountains, making them a spectacular sight.
Return to Pacchanta
- 01:00 p.m.: Return hike to Pacchanta.
- 02:30 p.m.: Lunch at Pacchanta.
- 03:30 p.m.: Relax and enjoy the hot springs in Pacchanta.
- 05:00 p.m.: Departure back to Cusco.
- 07:00 p.m.: Arrival in Cusco and drop-off at your hotel.
